한국어 능력 시험

 

오늘은 한국어능력시험(TOPIK, Test Of Proficiency In Korean)에 대해 알아보겠습니다.

* 한국인인 저에겐 toeic은 익숙하지만, 반대로 TOPIK은 생소하지만, 점점 중요해진다고 생각이 들어서 한번 알아보았습니다. 

TOPIK(토픽)은 한국어 학습자(교육 받는자)와 한국어를 사용하는 사람들이 자신의 한국어 능력을 측정하고 인증 및 활용(진학 및 취업)할 수 있는 시험입니다.

시험의 개요

TOPIK(토픽)은 교육부 국립국제교육원이 주관하며, 매년 여러 번 시행됩니다.

시험은 한국어 읽기, 쓰기, 듣기 능력을 평가하며, 초급, 중급, 고급의 세 가지 레벨로 나뉘어 평가하며 TOPIKⅠ(초급 수준, 1~2급), TOPIKⅡ(중-고급 수준, 3~6급), TOPIK 말하기 평가(1~6급)로 나뉩니다.

* 인터넷 기반 시험(IBT) 시험이 2023년부터 새로 생겨서, 기존의 (오프라인)장소 기반 시험(PBT)과 구분되어집니다. 한국어학원에서 많이 활용하는 것으로 알고 있습니다.

 

 

시험 구성

(1) 듣기: 이 섹션은 한국어로 된 대화나 발표를 듣고 이해하는 능력을 평가합니다.

(2) 읽기: 이 섹션은 한국어로 된 문장(한글)이나 문단을 읽고 이해하는 능력을 평가합니다.

(3) 쓰기: 이 섹션은 한국어로 글을 쓰는 능력을 평가합니다.

* 토픽Ⅰ과 토픽 Ⅱ에 따라서 쓰기는 포함되지 않을 수 있습니다.(한 시험 시간표 참고)

TOPIK(토픽) 시험 등급

TOPIK(토픽)시험의 등급은 아래와 같이 1~6단계로 구분할 수 있으며, 등급이 높을수록 고급 수준입니다. 

토픽 스피킹 기준으로 1급은 49점까지, 2급은 89점까지, 3급은 109점까지,

4급은 129점까지,  5급은 159점까지, 6급이 200점까지 입니다.

 

 

 

시험 준비

TOPIK(토픽)을 준비하는 가장 좋은 방법은 한국어를 많이 연습하고 사용하는 것입니다. 

모든 언어의 숙련하는 방법은 동일하다고 생각됩니다. 한국어 수업을 듣거나, 한국어로 된 책을 읽거나, 한국어로 된 영화나 드라마를 보는 것이 도움이 될 수 있습니다. 또한, 과거에 토픽 시험 문제를 풀어보는 것도 유용할 수 있습니다.

Today, let's explore the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK).

• As a native Korean speaker, TOEIC is familiar to me, but conversely, TOPIK seemed unfamiliar. However, considering its increasing importance, I decided to look into it.

TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) is an examination for measuring and certifying the proficiency of Korean language learners and users, serving purposes such as certification and utilization (for education and employment).

• I wonder what score or grade I would achieve.

 

Overview of the Exam

 

TOPIK is administered by the National Institute for International Education under the Ministry of Education and is conducted several times a year.

The test evaluates reading, writing, and listening abilities in three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. It is divided into TOPIKⅠ (Beginner Level, Grades 1-2), TOPIKⅡ (Intermediate-Advanced Level, Grades 3-6), and TOPIK Speaking Test (Grades 1-6).

• The Internet-Based Test (IBT) was introduced in 2023, distinguishing itself from the traditional Place-Based Test (PBT).

 

Exam Composition

 

(1) Listening: This section evaluates the ability to understand conversations or presentations in Korean.

(2) Reading: This section assesses the ability to read and comprehend sentences or paragraphs in Korean.

(3) Writing: This section evaluates the ability to write in Korean.

• Depending on TOPIKⅠ and TOPIKⅡ, the writing section may or may not be included (refer to the specific exam timetable).

 

 

Exam Preparation

 

The best way to prepare for TOPIK is to practice and use Korean frequently.

The methods for mastering any language are thought to be similar. Taking Korean language classes, reading books in Korean, and watching Korean movies or dramas can be helpful. Additionally, solving past TOPIK exam questions can be beneficial.

 

Through TOPIK, Korean language learners can improve their proficiency and obtain the qualifications necessary for studying or working in Korea.
